For Starters

So, this is my first "at-work" post. If you are thinking, "this guy doesn't do much at work if he is writing an entry," well, you could be right. I think it is that I am just THAT efficient and get my job done quickly. But, I don't want to brag about myself because I could go on for hours. Anyway, it is too nice outside. We need a transition stage for the spring to arrive in Boston. I don't like how it rains/snows and is freezing, then all of a sudden it is 50 degrees and sunny. Stay in the 40's, some clouds, then bring in the sun and warm weather.

I like transitions. Transitions are key. I hate comedians who never work transitions into their material. They start off with drugs then the sentence ends and you're talking about your cubicle at work. You know who had bad transitions - Dave Chappelle. A young Dave Chappelle. Nowadays he is fine, but if you can catch some of his older skits on HBO, man, he was awful. Jokes were okay, but transition was brutal. Now, I was watching some George Carlin the other night and he admitted to not having a transition, which, ironically enough, is a transition...much like my transitions from weather into transitions. Never thought I could write so much on transitions, huh?

Well, I like to make lists every now and then, and as you will see, I have an extensive library of them. My personal favorite is on my top cereals, but since I am at work today, I will bring that topic to the forefront and list the top 5 workday weekdays I would like to have off under any given week, working in a corporate office.

5. Friday - Friday is the worst day to take off, especially if you work in a corporate office. If you have to work 9-5 everyday and stamp a 1980's timecard, ok, this would probably be 1 or 2, but I like in the new millennium and don't stamp anything (not even envelopes... I decline to. I take them to a post office and give them 37 cents and make them put the stamp on). So, why this day is #5 - most corporate jobs slack off on Fridays, first of all, and a bunch of offices clear out early on Friday's. Nothing I hate more than taking a day off and finding out on Monday that my co-workers got out @ 3 on Friday. I want those 2 hours back.

4. Wednesday - Yeah, you break up the weak, but still, those 2 days of knowing you'll work after Wednesday ruin everything.

3. Thursday - Thursday is here just because Monday and Tuesday have great reasons.

2. Tuesday - Just because of the few months in the year with Monday Night Football. Go out, get bombed and watch your team win, or get smoked (if you're a Cowboys fan).

1. Monday - Having Monday off is the best ever. It extends your weekend. Unlike Friday, which I don't count as a weekend extended, Monday PROLONGS your weekend. Sunday football, Monday recovery. Whether it be for rest reasons of hangover reasons, Monday's are key.

Well, that is my first list... More will come, but now I must get back to doing some work...
